We offer to all guests
A refuge at Praia do Paulas, a fishing neighborhood in the third-oldest city in Brazil. With a unique view of Babitonga Bay, the entry channel for ships arriving in São Francisco, we can enjoy the gentle back-and-forth of the ocean’s soothing monotony. The hotel was the dream of a visionary from the city, Mr. Kowalsky, and that dream continued when it was acquired by the Paranaense Malucelli Family. Several unique corners were created one by one, always focused on guest comfort and satisfaction. The Hotel VillaReal São Francisco do Sul offers: outdoor pool with bar, heated pool, game room, kids’ room, indoor and outdoor event spaces, among other attractions. Attached to the hotel, we also have the Convés Restaurant, which offers a panoramic view of Babitonga Bay.

Check out a little
Cradle of Santa Catarina’s culture, São Francisco do Sul had been inhabited since immemorial times by the so-called “Sambaquians”, who lived adapted to the estuarine environment. Later, the region was dominated by Amerindians of the Tupi-Guarani ethnic group, nicknamed “carijós” by the colonizers in the southern and part of the southeastern coast. The first report of the arrival of a European navigator dates from January 5, 1504, with the expedition of the French navigator Binot Paulmier de Gonneville aboard the vessel L’Espoir. Effective settlement only occurred in 1658, with the arrival of the vicentine Manoel Lourenço de Andrade, who brought families, dependents, and enslaved people. Thus, in 1660 the village was elevated to the category of town and, later, in 1665, became a parish. The city was then officially founded by Law 249 on April 15, 1847.
